I was born in New Delhi, India and grew up in Cyprus, Belgium, Greece, Zimbabwe, and Italy. I first came to the UK to study Philosophy & Theology at St Anne's College, University of Oxford and subsequently received my PhD from the University of Reading (under the supervision of Jonathan Dancy). I spent most of my twenties as a theatre director and playwright. My last piece was a Socratic dialogue about the parthenon sculptures, starring Michael Pennington.
Since then I have taught philosophy at NYU in London, the Open University, the University of Bath, the University of Reading, Oxford Brookes University, and the University of Hertfordshire (where I remain a Visiting Professor of Philosophy). My philosophical interests are unfashionably broad, but I work primarily in the philosophy of action, moral psychology, and interpersonal understanding. I also have an interest in the psychology
of philosophy, as advanced by Hume, Nietzsche, and Wittgenstein.
